Text Box: SERLS MISSION STATEMENT
Southeast Regional Library System (SERLS) is a cooperative regional library system charted by the State of Ohio in 2006. Its mission is to provide continuing education, resource sharing and innovative services to and foster cooperative efforts among libraries in Central and Southeastern Ohio. SERLS is a member-driven organization that assists libraries in improving services to Ohio’s citizens. With a commitment to collaborative efforts, SERLS cooperates with OPLIN, the Ohio Library Council, the State Library of Ohio, OELMA, ALAO, other regional library systems, and other institutions and library organizations to develop and implement programs and services to its members.

By default, any Ohio library of any type (public, school, academic and special) is automatically considered a Basic or Core Member of a Regional Library.  The Regional Libraries are geographically defined by counties;  SERLS encompasses the following counties:  sAthens sBelmont sDelaware sFairfield sFranklin sGallia sGuernsey sHocking sJackson sJefferson sLawrence sLicking sMeigs sMonroe sMorgan sMuskingum sNoble sPerry sPickaway sPike sRoss sScioto sVinton sWashington.  
At SERLS, basic members can take advantage of services such as continuing education workshops, on-site use of our Ellison Die machines as well as our professional collection.  Basic members can choose to pay an economical annual fee and become enhanced members to obtain an additional level of services.  Services available to Enhanced members include discounted or free continuing education workshops, participation in our dental and vision insurance programs, consortium purchasing, vendor discounts, 
in-house use of our Ellison Die machines and dies and use of our Reading Adventure Treasure Chest kits, as well as our Book Discussion Kits.  Contact us for more information @ (740) 384-2103 x5.
