As we enter the last quarter of our Fiscal/Membership year, I would like to address my vision for SERLS.  Simply stated,  I want SERLS to be the place where the libraries of central and southeast Ohio can turn to for affordable yet high quality continuing education events and services that will enhance your library. I also want SERLS to be a primary source of assistance when your library has a need.  I am not afraid to explore different or unique ideas to achieve this vision, yet I will  ensure that solutions will be timely, effective and affordable in order to keep our enhanced membership reasonably priced.  We are currently fulfilling this vision by offering more workshops in the first half of 2008 than we did in 2007.  Additionally, we are offering new services which include color copying/printing, Reading Adventure Treasure Chest Kits and Book Discussion Kits.  We are also developing a new website to provide more detailed information about SERLS in a user-friendly format.  I  am also in the process of a staggered release of a Needs Assessment Survey to find out what future services we can establish to help serve you better. Feel free to e-mail me at dirserls@oplin.org and submit any suggestions for improvement or give me a call at (740) 384-2103 X5.

Starting in March, we are offering Roundtable Discussions of various topics on a regular schedule twice a year.  These discussions are a terrific opportunity to network and solve problems with other library staff in the central and southeast area of Ohio!  Look for the Roundtable Symbol in the Events section.
