Publisher for libraries

OHIONET, Columbus./ April 2nd, 9:30 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.

In this class, participants will learn to use Publisher in the traditional method as well as some non-traditional methods (have you ever made a 7 ft giraffe with Publisher?). This training session is intended for children's librarians and library staff members in charge of signage, bookmarks, pamphlets or any other Publisher-created documents. Projects will follow a "bug" theme in coordination with the state-wide summer reading program. Come get a jump start on your summer reading program publicity! Light morning refreshments provided.

Every Child Ready to Read:
Basic Training

 The Basic Ready to Read workshop offers an overview of the Every Child Ready to Read early literacy initiative from the Public Library Association and the Association for Library Service to Children of the American Library Association. Participants will have hands on practice with portions of the Pre-Readers and Talkers parent workshops. They will also learn how to initiate new partnerships or strengthen existing ones. Participants will leave with practical ways to develop and implement a strong role for the library in the early childhood community.  Free of charge

 

 

Computer/ Technology Trends Roundtable

Come discuss issues regarding the latest trends in technology and computers. This group is appropriate for administrators who are evaluating technology in their library to staff members who work with patrons and have an inside view as to what patrons are asking for and anyone else who works closely with technology.  Free of charge
