USING BIBLIOGRAPHIC SOFTWARE OHIONET, COLUMBUS/ APRIL 24TH, 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. Many researchers use bibliographic software to organize their citations and to write research papers. Two types of bibliographic software programs will be introduced in this workshop: EndNote X1 and RefWorks. EndNote X1 is a desk-top program which a user installs on his personal computer. RefWorks is an online service for users to subscribe. Participants will learn to use EndNote X1 during the workshop. Features of RefWorks will be demonstrated by the workshop instruction. This two day event will start with our featured presenter, Tod Strasser, author of Mob Princess and Nighttime. Then we will talk about Teens and Technology, followed by several breakout sessions. Other speakers include Rosemary Honnold as well as John Green, award winning author of “Looking for Alaska.” DISCOVER YOUR ROOTS SERLS, WELLSTON/ MAY 1ST, 9:30 AM- 3:30 PM. This workshop will help attendees from small and medium libraries develop self-directed guides, staff/patron tutorials, and web site guides to genealogy and local history holdings. Participants will learn techniques to help them aim for a self-service, easily accessible collection and a library staff that can confidently provide guidance when assisting users in the initial stages of research.
